I spent a lot of time on the piano and guitar in 2018-2019. I've consolidated APEX LOVE onto the 2018 tab, and a lot of the demo's I recorded over those two years onto this tab. I look back at this time fondly. I did nothing but write and compose.

This might be my favorite year on the ARCHIVE for music. I hope you enjoy.

I'm not sure why I didn't release APEX LOVE. Not releasing this Album feels like the start of a falter in my sequence. I love this album and think its some of the best work I did in my teenage years. Every year that passed in which I didn't release this album, I felt my signal receptor jam. From a practical perspective, this time in my life required much attention. This meant finishing APEX LOVE in the fashion it deserved to be finished, was increasingly difficult. That never stopped me before though. Check this one out if you haven't. It's from the heart.

ULTRA ALONE made me feel the same way Falling Short did. You'll see in the gallery below - I was surrounded by so many dear friends. This was special and ironic, given the EP's title. So much happened in 2017. When I looked through the year chronologically, I couldn't quite believe it all occurred in one year, but we were passionate and on fire then. Reflecting on this year of my life and sorting the sliver of work shown in this archive made the feeling click for me. I started working on new projects again in 2025 thanks to this part of the process. If I could reproduce the feeling of ULTRA ALONE over and over again, I would. Thanks to revisiting this world for just a little, I have more faith now than ever that we'll see this again. See YOU then... :)

Falling Short was special. It released on 11/11/16. Who would have thought that 9 years would pass us in the blink of an eye? Incredible. Atypical Day in full fledge. We put so much love into working together then. So many people were integral to Falling Short. Actually too many to name, but you were all there and all made it indefinitely more special by being a part of it together. This project has A LOT of love on it. I'm lucky to have formed bonds as special as the bonds we had then, and even luckier that I just so happened to sing about it.

From school advertisements promoting both the project and a Homecoming performance, to Snapchat geo-filters, projector visuals, recording, writing, printing and selling tickets, making shirts and backpacks, album artwork, the release event, and work behind the scenes that I could write much more about. The memories surrounding this album are integral to my teenage years. Nothing can replace Falling Short.

IRREPARABLE [UNRELEASED]

In 2015, I was set to release a double-mixtape titled IRREPARABLE. The first half was a very sample heavy project, the second half was a no-sample project I was working on. I never released it because, well... I didn't think this was good enough to see through. However, This was the year I met a lot of fellow musicians in the area that I respect and am proud of to this day. A lot happened and was made this year. This year I finally got to experience the communal nature of being an artist. It was a huge precursor to my 2016 release.

I was listening to a lot of UK Hard-House music at the time. I'm not even a huge fan, but I remember wanting to blend that with more lush chord progressions. I've obviously always been inspired by Daft Punk as well. I think In Memory is my favorite song. It took me a good while to put together. I was in Jazz class learning the technical side of playing the piano. This was around the time I started to believe that if you do things others aren't willing to do, you might break some ground/innovate in your work. I wouldn't say this is that, but it was part of the thesis behind the project.

SD CARD

I was 12-13 when I began putting this together. Looking back, I am proud of what I was working on and toward at that age. I used to think I was operating at a loss because Justin Bieber blew up when he was 13 (I think) LOL. My favorite song is Palmae. I thought it was genius that SD also worked as an acronym for Synadrace.
